Todd Marshall - I think you may be on to something. Making a little music is always a good idea.

Gary Rubloff - If you bring your banjo, I'll bring my guitar. Who knows it may be the start of a hot new group.

Musical Memories:

Singing for me started in seventh grade at Thomas Jefferson. Our Principal, Smith Applegate, put me in a barbershop quartet with Larry Rager, Dick and Ken Wellner, and the four of us sang together for several years. Our last performance was at a PHS assembly freshman year. Following that, I abandoned music for photography.

I didn't start playing the guitar until sometime during our Senior year. (Larry Norton - I also remember playing and singing Kingston Trio songs in Rock Carter's basement). At WIU in Macomb, I sang at a coffee house called the Deep End. From there, a group of five of us booked a number of "folk concerts" at high schools and colleges around Illinois and Iowa (back then you didn't need much talent to make a buck playing folk music).

These days I mostly play at church. I do the music for a small contemporary Mass at St Paul's Cathedral here in Peoria every Sunday evening.

Greg Rushford - I remember several sleepovers at your house when we cranked up the Elvis records and we "became" Elvis in our minds.

Terry and Patty - I can't wait to hear what a drum and vocal duet sound like.

It's amazing the memories these emails provoke.

Cheers,

Bob Drake

Subject: Latin music Saturday night?

Hi Greg,

I'm cc'ing Laraine on this. Saturday night is being done by the pros so I defer to her.

I'm cc'ing Terry and Patty because they're the pros doing Friday night and know what works with cows.

I'm cc'ing Gary Rubloff because he must be given equal time with his Bluegrass banjo and Blues Guitar.

And I'm cc'ing everybody else just because I'm a gossip.

Now if you would consider doing it Friday night out at the ranch, hey, if it goes with potato salad ... I say bring it on. I think it would be terrific for the class to bring out some of their talent. You know we're going to get a drum recital from Terry and Patty has already promised me she would sing.

/Todd

Hey Todd:

Do you think that anyone would be interested in some Latin music Saturday night? I'm talking merringue & salsa, basically. Not that I don't stink as a dancer, but it's fun to try.

Cheers,

Greg
