Chuck:
I remember memorizing that small part of Beowulf for Miss Peterson (I believe).
A small part of that still sticks with me. That's definitely one of my high
school memories.
Remember Miss Spickard for speech? A year later I was just as scared/petrified
in college speech. Now when I get in front of church choir they want to know
when we can start singing (and will I please shut up!).

Dave:
Have you tried reading the Canterbury Tales in the original Middle English?
That was a graduate class I took, and it was wonderful. We also read Beowulf in
the orignal Olde English. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of call for people
who speak Olde or Middle English, so I've lost the skill......smile.
