You reminded me of another source of info I had on Plowe. Edward N. Miller
(also Murray Baker's accountant--Caterpillar founder) was organist at
First/Central Christian Church from 1900 until 1965. He used to tell me how
"Professor Plowe" felt about this composer or that.
E.N. Miller put the Pipe Organ sound in my head and Craig Thiersch introduced
me to Bach and Grace Bone (who I studied with at BU). I still enjoy the Bach
Prelude and Fugue in C Moll that Craig played in 8th grade. It was one of my
"annuals" in NYC as an organist. I remember going over to First
Federated Church to listen to Craig practice that work (which I thought was the
height of all music).
I have very fond memories of Craig mentoring and inspiring me in music.

Dave & Susie:
Yes, Plowe directed the orchestra for many years in the first half of the 20th
century. My father, who was born in 1915, took lessons from him, as I thini I
mentioned in a prior email.
I'm glad to hear that Elmer Szepsey is doing ok. I took lessons from him for
many years and played under his direction for all 4 years at Central. Susie, I
think that your idea of inviting some former teachers like Elmer is a good
idea. It would be fun to chat with them again.
