All,
A while back I sent a list of the Number One Hits while we were in high
school. Last night I heard Johnny Mathis on the radio singing "Chances
Are," and it made me think about that list. It surprised me that he never
had a No. 1 hit. He was so popular! I remember vaguely--I think it was
during our sophomore year--when Johnny Mathis had a television special or at
least was on television, and the girls were talking about it the next day in
class. (I think it was Bonnie Peters who first brought it up, but I can't
be absolutely sure I remember that correctly.) They all were swooning, of
course!
He had so many hits. I'm surprised none made it to No. 1, at least while we
were at PHS.
Tomorrow morning I leave for Peoria. What a (cyber) trip it has already
been! See y'all there!
Tom
