Ted, I don't remember Chet Walker as a student teacher, he may have been a year or two ahead of us, but I do remember him at Bradley and the national competition between that team and Cincinnati led by Oscar Robertson!! I do remember an intramural basketball ref from Bradley though by the name of Joe Montgomery! I fouled out of a championship game led by Jerry Diamond, Mike McCord, and DT Charlie Nelson (anyone remember what that stood for?) thanks to him; I still recall throwing my jersey at the desk of Mr Stepping who monitored all those games (another really neat guy) and hearing Denny Ackerman yelling in the background "I fouled him, I fouled him; Smiley, didn't"!! --because we didn't have another player to take my place, storming past Mary Hobin who was only there to watch Bruce, slamming a number of innocent lockers, and finally heading to the showers. I still wonder about those lockers.... I'll have to
