As a not-too-athletic person in those days, I remember getting my grade in PE an F. The teacher went on to write the grade in the next person's report card and then said he forgot something - the vertical leg of the letter - He had given me an A. That was the best grade! I remember playing "indoor soccer" in the gym - nothing like indoor soccer now! Who was the PE teacher?
