My memories are limited to the first two years, i.e. pre-driver's license, but
I'll always remember Glyda Swisher's Latin classes and how she introduced us to
the personal attack as a standard teaching method: "The answers aren't
written on the ceiling, Lee Swardenski..." "How about that, Tom Koch,
you seem so interested in what your neighbor is doing, I'll bet you didn't hear
what I just said, did you?" "You people..."
I also remember the fear we incoming freshmen had of being "set on a
fountain" by the upperclassmen. Maybe that was a discontinued practice
under the enlightened rule of Mr.. Mills, so it doesn't get much mention in
these Memories.
