Dear Laraine,
I've been so amazed by the e-mail responses after all this time and even though
I have a lot of memories of PHS and 1959-1962...I'm grateful for the wealth and
generosity of community memory. What can I say? Peoria was a great learning
place and in some ways I've thought of it as a division between my childhood
and adulthood...but the warmth of feelings that come back in my "middle
age" must mean that Peoria was destined to be a part of my old age.
I'm worried that I won't be able to hear all the great stories (happy and
tragic) and the time won't be enough to catch up, but it will sure be great
looking at everyone and eating greasy pizza at Aggatucci's. My mom lives at
Liberty Village in Peoria and is a hearty 93 years old; she has a good memory
and we often talk about the past, but this reunion will be something special
(as Larry has reminded us of our mortality so nicely!)
I really have a lot I'd like to say, but I'll spare you my words of wisdom and
just try not to cry too much when I see how much you've all aged! Just kidding.
Love, Bev
