Loraine and TJ grads:

Bob must be referring to the recording we made at WMBD's studios back then. I didn't remember that a record was available and would love to get my hands on one.

Smith Applegate is gone; however, his wife is still alive (I think) and his son, Dick (Richwoods class of '62, Bradley class of '66) is still teaching music here in Peoria (Roosevelt Magnet School).

If no one else has any ideas, I will pursue it with Dick Applegate. I haven't seen Dick since I've been back, but I'm not shy.

Bob Canterbury had a keen sense of humor and I'd sure like to see him!

One more quick note to TJers. Dr. Fred King, our first principal, died this past year and there was a nice write up on him in the Peoria Journal Star (http://pjstar.com).

Hi all,

Can anyone help Bob? He did not include an email address or phone # but he did include his address.

Bob said: "Although it will not be possible for me to attend . . . I will “be there in spirit!!!” Kindly request if one of the 1958 male graduates of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School who was in Mr. Applegate’s Ensemble singing group still might have a recording of our group. There was a 33 1/3 record cut and, stupidly, I made the mistake of not purchasing a copy. What I am hoping is one of those who has a recording might make me a tape. I would be happy to cover the cost. Have a great get-together and God willing I’ll be there in ten years."
